I've been using 2.30 for less than a day, but my experience has been

Not enough experience, yet, to judge other aspects of SM 2.30. So far
I'm liking it.
Better that 2.26.1 -- with or without the "remember passwords" add-in?
If it behaves as well as 2.26.1 with that enabled I will be a very happy
camper. I guess I will find out when it hits ubuntuzilla.
