Hmmm, even the current doc is obsolete:

suite/app/seamonkey.man.in contains

.SH USAGE
\fB@MOZ_APP_NAME@\fR is a simple shell script that will set up the environment 
for
the actual executable, \fB@MOZ_APP_NAME@-bin\fR.

But seamonkey is most definitely not a shell script anymore.
