I have 2.26.1
It was supposed to be fixed with Gecko 29, which is what SeaMonkey
2.26.1 uses.

Possibly. But try a couple things first.
Is there a reason you are not using SM 2.29 or SM2.30?
I did not like to upgrade each time a new version appear.
Most of the time, a new version gives new problems.
When i upgraded from 2.24 to 2.26.1 i got:
"firebug-2.0.1-fx.xpi could not be installed because it's not comaptible
with SM 2.26.1"
So, for this reason i am also reluctant to upgrade.
I just wait now for, per exemple, 2.30.1
Since you're on 2.26.1, you don't have OMTC so that is not the likely
cause.
