I noticed this with my many years of using SM on multiple computers.
Very rarely, I see my SM forget all cookies even though I never
asked that. Has anyone seen this happen too? Is corruption or
something?

Could you be clearing private data inadvertently by pressing the
keyboard shortcut CTRL-SHIFT-DEL?

No, since I would have saw the pop-up.

I do it regularly and intentionally. ;-)

Cookie lovers can exclude them from the deletion by unchecking the box
at Edit | Preferences | Privacy & Security | Private Data:
...
When I ask SeaMonkey to clear my private data, it should erase:
...
[ ] Cookies

And of course most programs are prone to temp data loss in crashes etc.

I do get instability once in a while. I noticed when I restarted SM after losing my cookies, it didn't restore my sessions of 20(?) tabs, with two/2 windows, I had opened. :/
