Sorry, no ideas but my SM mail is doing the same thing.
1 to 2 minutes to send!

I am running SeaMonkey 2.26.1 under WinXP Pro SP3 {WO any Bill
Gates "improvements" in ~forever} without problems.
I had turned off all M$ long ago as up until a few weeks ago I
had *DIALUP* internet access. I now have high speed access via
T-Mobile.
