I am using SM 2.32.1 on Win. XP SP3 and have started experiencing the
slow sending of emails since my ISP installed new modems. I can send
fast on web mails or using Outlook Express or Microsoft Outlook 2007 but
with SeaMonkey it takes up to 2 minutes to connect with the server. I
disabled my virus program which I have set not to check emails and
disabled my firewall but that did not help I ran in safe mode with all
extension disabled but that did not help either. I ran 2.37 and it was
the same as 2.32.1 as was SM 2.26 and Thunderbird.
I talked to my ISP and my port settings are OK [port 25. Any ideas?

Is it all the time or random? I notice sometimes it takes my EarthLink's
SMTP to connect once in a while. I thought it was my ISP but on TWC's
Internet! I'm also using v2.33.1 and Windows XP Pro. SP3. :(
About 90% of the time lately--once in awhile one will go as it should.
It dose not make a difference if it is a one liner or long email with
attachment or sent plain text or HTML or sending both. I tried setting
up a new Thunderbird portable 38.20 in it would not recognize gpcom.net
as a valid server it finally did but was the same as the others I have.
I am beginning to think it is my server name but it always worked fine
before, I will call them again today.

You either teach people to treat you with dignity and respect, or
you don't. This means you are partly responsible for the mistreatment
that you get at the hands of someone else.
