So, SeaMonkey still cannot do full screen without a plugin.
An extension is not a plugin. They are two categories of Add-ons.
Since Mozilla is dropping support for NPAPI plugins (except for Flash)
at the end of 2016, it might be a good idea to get the terminology
straight to avoid confusion.
I know the difference. Flash is a plugin and Mozilla is not getting
rid
of it. Why would anyone use HTML5 at youtube? It is horrible on IE 10,
Sea Monkey, Fx 41 and Pale Moon 25.7. I force Flash for youtube
videos.
HTML5 videos on Youtube render just fine for me using SM, Firefox, IE
etc.
Same here, except you can't view them in full screen mode.
SeaMonkey needs an extension (not a plugin) to enable full screen mode.
With a few about:config tweaks I can even watch them in 1080p, but is
my monitor 1080p capable.
Or, just install easely this extension (not a plugin):
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/seamonkey/addon/true-full-screen-in-seamonkey/
I installed this extension yesterday and it did not get rid of junk but
the developer thinks I may have a conflict with another extension, etc.
I didn't try it in a new, clean profile so that may be the case. But
youtube videos in HTML5 are horrible on all my browsers compared to
Flash where they are gorgeous in 1080p. However, even Flash cannot fix
SeaMonkey's problem with full screen video. That has to be fixed inside
Sea Monkey. Now that Microsoft has partnered with Google to show me ads
during youtube videos that play in HTML5 to try and force me to download
and install Windows 10....well, no way I will ever use HTML5 video at
youtube even if it did a better job than Flash. I played the same video
after installing an extension to force youtube to play videos in the
vastly superior Flash Player and I didn't get the ad. I saw no ads. I
never see any ads when I use Flash and that was a particularly obnoxious
ad. No wonder why Google is trying to force us to use HTML5 player at
youtube.
