I have been messaging on this News Group about
problems with SM and Windows XP and quite a few of
those here 'suggested' (lol) that I upgrade to a
higher version of Windows. I had to buy a newer
computer - which I just did - a used one with
Windows 7 which I can get upgraded to Windows 10
should I choose.
So - should I stay with Win 7 (which the Computer
Store vendor suggests) or go to Windows 10 (free
upgrade).
If I stay with Windows 7 - is any particular SM
version better with 7 ?
If I go for Windows 10, is there a better SM
version for THAT !?
I understand that going for Windows 10 means that
I HAVE to let Microsoft get into my pants 100%
I was told you HAVE to give them access to
everything you do on that computer to even use the
program. User agreement.

Alright - You have convinced me to go with Windows
7 ! I shall eschew Windows 10 !
(I will try to find a "Windows 7 for Dummies" in a
used book store)
NOW - I have saved SM 2.39 (downloaded from the
Mozilla web site) to a Thumb Drive.
When I turn on my "New" (used) compuker with
Windows 7 installed, I will load SM 2.39 on it
from the Thumb Drive.
Big question - will it be possible to set it up on
the NEW computer with ALL the same stuff I now
have on THIS computer under Win XP and SM 2.33.1
(same Mail, Bookmarks, Add-ons, Plug-Ins, etc) by
copying files to the SM directory on the new
computer....?
I hope I asked that question w/o confusing everyone !
i.e. - make the new compuker have exactly what I
now have on this old compuker....not lose anything.
