We can wait a bit, but if there isn't further feedback, it looks like

I think so too.

BTW, after having created this newsgroup account, I'm unable to create
mail accounts now. The wizard always defaults to nntp accounts. How do I
select what kind of accounts I can create?

It seems there are some usability issues. :'(

Regards,

S.

S, that "NNTP accounts only" problem is a know problem from a couple of
years ago, and there is a "workaround" in place which involves setting a
particular pref in about:config from True to False or some such.

I've had a look in bugzilla,
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/buglist.cgi?quicksearch=Account+wizard ,
and in about:config but couldn't find the correct filter term!

It's mentioned under "Known Issues" in the release notes (and has been
as of version 2.1).

After creating a news account through clicking a news URL, the
MailNews account wizard may be broken (the account type will always be
News). To work around the problem, set the mail.server.serverX.valid
pref (where X is the internal number of the corresponding news
account) to true in about:config, or delete the invalid news account
(bug 521861).

Mark.

Thanks, Mark.
