I have had for some time, a number of extraneous folders that I

This is only on the desktop. The laptop is fine with only the folders

created. Is there a cleanup or solution to this problem.

Something is creating folders on your win7 desktop?
Is it related to SM or to the O/S?
What are the folder names?
I believe he is referring to the desktop PC, not the desktop folder
on the desktop PC.
Ahh... Yes, you are correct. I read it wrong.
Anyway, it's not clear ... where are those folders ?
These show in the folder listing in SM. There are a number of different
extensions and some without any extension. Here are two sections of my
folder listing in SM. I have these sorts of folders on my desktop
machine SM, but none on the laptop SM

Looks the a drag and drop error. You have dragged stuff by copy or move
where if does not belong.Stuff that should be in your profile folder but
is not in your Mail folders...basically everything *after* the "Unsent
Messages" folder in mail.
example:
adblockplus
should be located:
%APPDATA%\Mozilla\SeaMonkey\Profiles\YOUR_SALT.default\adblockplus
bug you have it here:
%APPDATA%\Mozilla\SeaMonkey\Profiles\YOUR_SALT.default\Mail\SOME_MAIL_ACCOUNT\adblockplus
If you go to mail folder in explorer
%APPDATA%\Mozilla\SeaMonkey\Profiles\YOUR_SALT.default\Mail\SOME_MAIL_ACCOUNT\
and move everything *NOT* named Input, Drafts, Templates, Sent, Junk,
Trash, Unsent Messages, their associated *.msf files, and possible *.dat
files msgFilterRules.dat, popstate.dat, rules.dat; and move them to some
other place before dumping, (if duplicates, or moving to proper place if
not). Then start SeaMonkey the mystery mail folders will be gone.

Take care,
