A while ago, there was an addon which allowed PDFs to be viewed directly

the addon lists.
In the most recent Arch Linux build, there is an Evince plugin which is
supposed to handle PDF files. Seems to be the same in the Arch build of
Firefox also. It works in Firefox, but causes Seamonkey to lock up
completely. I can (eventually) force Seamonkey closed, but that is it....
Does anyone know how I can find the old internal viewer addon so I can
remove it and see if that allows the Evince plugin to work? Otherwise, I
have to disable any attempt to view PDFs online and force download
instead, which doesn't work with all sites.
The basic Acrobat Reader from Adobe, as well as the full Acrobat
program, both allow you to do this by setting a preference within those
programs. For example, in Acrobat X, which I use, it's under Edit |
Preferences | Internet | Display PDF in browser. (this assumes your OS
knows that PDF files are to be handled with Acrobat Reader etc.)
If you're allergic to Adobe products or have some other reason for
rejecting these options, other posters will surely offer alternatives.
I'm sorry, I have no expertise there.
