Thanks. There are several dates but nothing in there if I choose one
and try to restore it.
It looks like 2.46 bookmarks are default for a brand new installation.
There are Google bookmarks that I would NEVER have. Google (anything to
do with it) is blocked in my Hosts file. I always remove all the crud
that gets in a new installation of any Mozilla browser. So, the fact
the crud is there (not just Google stuff but all the other crud) tells
me that bookmarks is a new default installation with none of my bookmarks.
I think it may have had something to do with Multicolumn bookmarks that
I use on Pale Moon currently and on Firefox ESR until very recently.
Multicolumn bookmarks is a very old AMO Fx extension that has not been
updated in a long time and, in fact, is no longer listed at AMO. I had
converted it for use in SeaMonkey with LemonJuice's SeaMonkey Extensions
Converter. Of my 26 extensions, none that I had that were converted
ones worked after the upgrade and I had to remove all of them as
SeaMonkey would not even start until I did that. I bet when I removed
it in Safe Mode that it took all the bookmarks with it. That
possibility never occurred to me so I didn't manually backup the
bookmarks before removing that extension.
Desiree, have the bookmarks actually been lost or is it just that
"Multicolumn" is not there that they cannot be displayed??
Might be worthwhile installing an older version of SM, one in which
"Multicolumn" did work, and then, if the bookmarks are displayed, export
them as HTML or whatever, so that, when you update again, you have a
file that can be re-imported!
