The next releases after 2.48 will be from the ESR branch (2.49.x) for some
time. They will contain only bug and security fixes. The next planned release
after 2.49.x is 2.56 ESR. Depending on the fallout after Firefox 57 it might
never come to this but we will see. The a2 aurora versions have been
discontinued. Please switch to 2.52a1 or Adrians release/beta versions. I can
not tell you when the next beta will arrive. Getting 2.48 and 2.49.1 out have
absolute priority.
