I use eternal-september for most of my newsgroup access and don't have
problems with it other than the icons being far too small to see. I get
eyestrain trying to see the tiny green spot that indicates a group with new
posts. But at least they are there.
I also use news.mozilla.org to access this one group. I never see the group
icon change when there are new posts. The little green arrow never appears.
Any idea why?
For newsgroups, there is no group icon. If there is a new message, the
name of the newsgroup should appear bold. If there are any unread
messages, the count is shown.
Not sure what you mean there is no group icon. There is a pane listing all
the servers and groups subscribed to on that server there is an icon next to
each group. It changes for the eternal-september groups but not for the
Mozilla groups. I see this is called the "folder" pane.
I see a purple arrow for those newsgroup messages to which I replied. I
see a green arrow for those E-mail messages to which I replied and a
purpose arrow for those E-mail messages that I resent unaltered to
someone else; and I see both arrows for those E-mail messages for which
I did both.
We are both talking about SeaMonkey, right? I don't see anything purple.
But then I don't use email in SeaMonkey.
