What email client are you using? I use Thunderbird for email and SeaMonkey for my default browser. See my posting on June 7: "Email links from Thunderbird not opening properly in SeaMonkey". This sounds like the same problem that I am having with several sites that send emails with links that won't open properly in SeaMonkey but will open in other browsers if I change my default browser. If I paste the correct link into SeaMonkey, for example opening your link from your posting or opening links from my posting they will display properly.
