I'm having problems in particular with Vimeo, for example:
https://vimeo.com/219207963

The video plays in a SM default profile, but not in my normal one,
even with all plug-ins set to "Never Activate" and all extensions
disabled. The "play" button switches to "pause" when clicked, but the
video doesn't start. I assume corruption somewhere, but where?

Same here. Nothing on Vimeo works unless using a default profile.
Nothing jumps out at me looking at User Set prefs.

I opened the Firebug console and attempted to play the video. When I
click Play in my normal profile, four messages appear, the video does
not play:

ReferenceError: reference to undefined property t[a][u].handler

In the SM default profile, no messages appear, the video plays. Color me
confused.

It would seem that you need "media.autoplay.enabled" to be set to true.
I have a toggle button that I can use on that to switch it, and a video
did not play unless that was true.

That's bad but even doing that does not enable video there. You also have to allow cookies. Why would anyone go to that site under such dismal conditions? I don't use sites that force me to allow videos to start willy-nilly. I might allow cookies but NEVER do I allow sites to start playing videos without my express permission each time. TERRIBLE site!

The site uses Flash Player so why do I not see Flash icon to the left of the address bar and why am I not asked if I wish to enable Flash on that site and then, if I were to do that, why does it just rudely play instead of giving me a button to click if I want to play it? Flash is set to Ask to Activate so why I am I not asked?
