Firefox is a product of the Mozilla Corporation. Not a company.

Mozilla has made some changes regarding Thunderbird and they are receiving some changes Firefox gets.

They also have landed in a new home at the Mozilla Foundation and are in progress of acquiring their own infrastructure. AIUI.
