I wanted to download all the messages from the inbox of my ISP's server.
There are a couple of thousand there. I use SMTP for my mail. How can I
download the entire message (s) not just the headers? My browser is
Seamonkey 2.40 and OS is Win 7 (32 bit). Thanks for your helphg.

1. Right-click on the account, and select "Settings".
2. Select the "Synchronization & Storage" panel for the account.
3. In the top section, you should be able to set it to download messages for
offline use, and even specify which folders.

Is this supposed to download the message bodies for newsgroups? It
doesn't seem to work there. I find the messages aren't downloaded until
you view them.

SMTP = Simplified *Mail* Transfer Protocol.

Newsgroups use NNTP which is different.

Not sure what you are talking about. The fact that different protocols are used is not terribly related is it? The newsgroup account has all the same settings under Synchronization and Storage. This is purely a SeaMonkey issue.

If you want to download News Group Posts, try looking at your File->Offline
settings.

In fact, this takes me to... Synchronization and Storage for the newsgroup account.
