What version were you trying to get? On addons.mozilla.org (amo), I

2.9.1, for which I do not see available at amo.

I did a little bit of checking with a default profile, and found that there's quite some number of XUL-based extensions that *appear* to be no longer available from AMO, at least not from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/seamonkey (the main channel).

However, in my primary profile, I have an extension called AMO Browsing for SeaMonkey: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/seamonkey/addon/amo-browsing-for-seamonkey/. With this one active, I can go to the Firefox page for Adblock Plus, and the display of that page offers an additional button, "View Version History". When you click that button, that shows a list of all versions of the extension, where WebExtensions versions are clearly marked as such. In this list, it's easy to scroll down, and find 2.9.1 as the latest version that works with Seamonkey.

As with David Ross, I think it's a good idea to make sure you save a copy of the downloaded .XPI file (and do this for all your extensions) -- right-click on the "download XPI" link and then select "save target as..." Then when you install from the add-ons manager and use the gear icon to install from file.
