(Possibly a question for a Win7 NG, but .... )
I've, twice now, downloaded SM 2.49.4, but have no idea where it
was saved! At Edit->Preferences->Browser->Downloads, in the section
"When saving a file" I have "Always ask me where to save files",
but I've not been asked, either time.
Tools->Download Manager does not list these downloads as having
occurred. Other downloads that I've done before and between the two
SM downloads are listed!!
My Wireless Broadband connectoid did indicate there was activity
happening.
A Search in the Windows Explorer screen finds nothing.
Where is/are my downloaded SM 2.49.4 files??
The Windows filename is "SeaMonkey Setup 2.49.4.exe," so a search
with Windows Explorer over your whole computer should find that. If
not, the download must've failed.
In my experience, SM remembers the last download directory, so if I
just inattentively approve instead of changing it, that's where it'll
go.
Can you find your other downloads "before and between the two SM
downloads"? (I don't mean in Download Manager, I mean in Windows
Explorer or the Linux equivalent) Isn't SM 2.49.4 in the same
directory?
Paul, I cut the "SeaMonkey Setup" from your post (just to be sure I got
the spelling, etc., right), opened my Windows Explorer, selected my
"Computer" (so it would search all my various Windows drives), then
pasted the "SeaMonkey Setup" in the search field.
The screen quickly displayed various file which include "SeaMonkey
Setup" or even just "Setup" in their names (and lots of files that must
contain either with-in their contents) and the most recent "SeaMonkey
Setup" that was displayed was "SeaMonkey Setup 2.49.1" (O.K., so I
missed the two intervening versions, or, at least, if I did d/l them,
they're not showing up either.
And YES, the D/L Manager is showing that I've downloaded a PDF on 6th
Aug, and, as I type this, I'm downloading Netscape Communicator
(communicator-v451-export.x86-unknown-linux2.0.tar) from my ISP's FTP
page (not, as far as I know, by FTP, and yes, I know Communicator is
OOOLLDD, and YES, I know it's a Linux file, but its a file!!) and it
shows on the D/L Manager screen.
Any other ideas to check??
