Can we install v2.53.1 into a new location and use a new profile without
touching our old v2.49.5 to start clean? I assume our old addons won't even
work in this new version since Mozilla changed its addon stuff. For now, I will
try it in a VM.

Greetings,

The SeaMonkey Project is pleased to announce the release of SeaMonkey
2.53.1b1!  It's the first beta in the 2.53 series.

Most add-ons should work fine. Themes probably need an update. Add-ons dealing
with bookmarks and downloads too.

Hi FRG,

In a previous post I reported that the add-on "Download Status Bar 15.0.0.1"
was not working in 2.53.1,
and you explained that Mozilla has taken out some API which allowed that add-on
to work in 2.49.5.

As per your statement above, should we assume that some improvement or change
has been applied to 2.53.1 which now allows "download dealing add-ons" to work ?

I am asking that because I use this add-on a lot and at this moment that is the
only thing preventing me to move to 2.53.1.

Thanks and best regards,

Rubens
