I wanted to delete all newsgroup posts from [email protected]. It
only seems to let me put specific folder (aka newsgroups).
Thank you for reading andhopefully answering soon. :)
Ant, I just checked (and created a filter for 'Support TheFork') and
applied it to this entire server.
If you click on "Filters for:" on the Message Filters screen, you
should get a list of all the newsgroups you subscribe to on a
server, and then a listing of each of the News Server Accounts. If
you select the appropriate Server Name, then you can select a
particular group to apply the filter to, or at the top of the list
of groups, you should see the Account name listed.
Selecting the Account name on the groups listing, you apply the
filter to all the groups you subscribe to on that server.
Ah, thanks. I can't use right click on post's From: Email Address
method since I don't see that option. I can't even change it after it
is added. I have to use the "Mail & Newsgroup"'s Tools -> Message
Filters menu instead to do that.
Sorry, Ant, I don't quite follow!!
If, in SeaMonkey Mail & News screen, I click on Tools->Message Filters
then I get the Message Filters screen that I mentioned above. Then I
click on "Filters for" and select the (in this case) "Mozilla"
account, then select "Mozilla" (i.e. all the groups that I have on the
Mozilla Server Account), and then I set up what I want to call the
filter and what I want the filter to do!!
Here's an example with your post setting it up I was trying to do:
https://imgur.com/a/JtfA4we. So, right click on From: <e-mail address>
to "Create Filter From..." Set up the filter and OK it. And then, check
for its filter. You will see it is NOT in news.mozilla.org usenet
server, but it is under its mozilla.support.seamonkey newsgroup. It does
not seem to let me put it under news.mozilla.org with this way. I have
to use your manual steps. :(
Ant, to read this post, in your Mail & News Screen, you must have
selected this News Group and then selected this message.
Right??
If so, now select 'Tools' in the top line. Then, on that drop-down,
select 'Message Filters....".
A new screen should open up, and in the top left of that screen is the
"Filters for:" and, at the moment it will show
'mozilla.support.seamonkey. Click the down-arrow. That should give you a
listing of the various Mail & News accounts (including Local Folder)
that you have.
Select whatever you call the Account for the Mozilla Server!! That
should give you a listing of all the groups that you subscribe to on
this Server and, *at the top of the list* , is the Server Name. If you
want your filter to apply to all the groups on this Server, select the
Server named at the top of the list.
Then, in the next screen (the one shown in your pic), you set up what
you want to call this filter and what you want to do with it!!
Job done ..... Hopefully!!
