I am using MacOS with SeaMonkey 2.53.1, but according to "About
SeaMonkey", my user-agent is: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64;
x64; rv:0.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/0.0 Lightning/5.8.1.
If I check headers exchanged with web servers using Live HTTP
Headers, I am apparently not sending any user-agent. What is wrong
with the user-agent reporting? I am also unable to spoof my user-agent.
EE, I have my SeaMonkey set up to display the message User Agent as
part of the Message Header information and you header is showing as
'Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:0.0) Gecko/20100101
Firefox/0.0'
Note: No mention of Lightning.
I have no idea why you think you are not sending a UA
If you want to spoof your User Agent, you can do that by 'customising'
you Preferences/Configuration. Let us know if you really want to do
that!! It's relatively easy.
After going through my entire list of settings, I found out that the
cause is in about:config.
privacy.resistFingerprinting - if set to true
I have no idea what that has to do with changing my user-agent, but the
user-agent is now normal after changing the setting to false.
O.K., so things are working for you then??
