I have searched for how to make SeaMonkey open my newsgroup messages
without any success. Even if I eventually found an app that would
open these messages, I would not be able to send a response message
back to the sender since the app would not be connected to the
newsgroup.
I'm sure that I am not the first person to encounter this
problem...thus, I would welcome help with solving this problem.
Of note, the same SeaMonkey software does in fact open my normal
email messages with no problem.

Can you open both SM and Tbird at the same time and compare NG settings?
I was having a hard time comparing the two NG settings...I now have this
under control as a result of printing out the data from both SeaMonkey
and Thunderbird.
Account Settings -- Thunderbird will be represented in the following as
Tbird and and SeaMonkey will represented by SM.

Account Name - On Tbird is Mozilla Help amd on SM it is my username.
Your Name - On Tbird it is Frog and on SM it is K&B.
Email Address - On Tbird it is f...@pond.com and it is

All other entries on Account Settings are the same.
SMTP Server (Window) - the following difference noted:

User Name - On Tbird is my username and on SM it is my email address.
All other entries on SMPT Server are the same.
Server Settomgs (WIndow)
News File and Local Directory information is different on the two windows.
All other entries on Server Settings are the same.
Everything other entries in the two accounts are the same.

I also have two other "News" accounts as follows:
SMPT Server - Username is my username on Tbird and my email address is
on SM.
Server setting are the same on both Tbird and SM except for newsrc file
and Local directory.
All other information on the two news accounts are the same.

I am not really sure why I have the last two "News" accounts.
