:)  Found it - there are two other files places.sqlite-shm and -wal. Missed them the first time. Copied them over and I've got the bookmarks back as well.

I thought those were temporary files created while the SQLite database is open, and deleted when it's closed. So if they're there it might indicate that you had SeaMonkey running when you copied the profile, or perhaps it had crashed. I usually close SeaMonkey while copying / backing up the profile, to help ensure everything is captured in a consistent state.

Apart from one email account which is timing out, everything is now working. I'll have to check that mail server, but otherwise things are back to normal. Liking the new version so far. If nothing else, a fresh profile gets me a few things I've not seen.
