There are reports of 20 GB or more on startup and crashes when using
streetmap and specific websites. I can not reproduce this neither on
Linux nor Windows. Memory goes up but also goes down moderately. In
some cases I suspect problemes with Linux distribution builds. IanN
thinks it might be imap mail.
Wow, 20 GB! Do you have the rest of the specific web sites for us to
reproduce?
No

Google Maps street view which was mentioned works fine for me in Windows
and Linux OpenSuse 15.2 and 2.53.3.
I remember in SeaMonkey v2.49.5 and earlier, Google Maps hogged
resources like crazy. I didn't see that any more in v2.53.x.
Does not mean that SeaMonkey is error free or that there is no
porblem. We are constantly fixing bugs and backport things now.
In any case I recommend NoScript 5.19 and latest uBlock classic
(legacy).
I will have to check out NoScript. Why no uBlock Origin instead of
classic?
I use both NoScript Classic 5.1.9 and uBlock (legacy which I consider
classic) 1.16.4.24
I will have to try NoScript again. The last time, I tried it was too
much hassle to use. :( Well, there are two uBlock Origin
(https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock-for-firefox-legacy) and non-Origin
(https://ublock.org).
