Deleting the .msf and .dat files isn't something I would personally do.
Try removing the newsgroup server entirely from SeaMonkey: Edit/Mail &
Newsgrouos Account Settings, highlight the server name and select Remove
Account. If prompted to delete old messages, select Yes.
Exit SeaMonkey completely, then re-launch it and add the newsgroup
server back in.
