Hello,

I observe that recently the status of the messages of this newsgroup doesn't persist after exiting the program.

After reading a message its status goes to read, but when I exit and restart the program it shows as unread again.

I have tried to repair the folder, but the problem persists.

AndrésH, somewhere in the back of my mind, I seem to remember there is a file associated with each news server account that you have.

For this server, that file would be news.mozilla.org.rc or something like that. With-in that file, there is a line for each news group that is subscribed to on that server. each group has one (maybe very long) line of data which records the message number of those messages that you have read. If a message number is not listed that means you haven't read that message (or vice versa!!).

If that file has, somehow, been set to 'Read Only', that file cannot be updated when you close SeaMonkey down each night!

So it could be worthwhile doing a search for that file, news.mozilla.org.rc, and right click on it to see if its properties have been set to 'Read Only'!!
