I've seen a few messages related to running Freenet behind a firewall,
or rather not running Freenet behind a firewall. None of them has had a
response, so I'm not expecting much to this one. But I have to try.

Here in the real world, people do run their PCs behind firewalls. I
think it is a huge and glaring omission that there is no option for
Freenet to run behind one. I have a whole bunch of PCs in different
locations that I would love to put on Freenet, but every single one is
behind a firewall.

Surely it is not beyond the wit of man (or woman) to hack the protocol
so it'll work though an HTTP proxy? Operation over different protocols
is something that will be required in any event as things like Bluetooth
emerge. Community networks, ISPs and corporate networks with internal IP
addresses constitute a huge user base. Freenet cannot afford to ignore
them.
