[freenet-support] Configuration and Usage

I just d/l and installed Freenet. I'm using Sun Java 2 (?) and Freenet 0.3.9 My question is, how do I know it's working other than the icon being shown in the tray?  I'm running Win98 SE. What can I do to test it and see if everything is working properly? TIA for your help.
