Ok - so, msvcrt.dll is linked to missing export Kernel32.dll
InitializeCriticalSection... According to all information I can find from
Microsoft, InitializeCriticalSection should NEVER be missing from
Kernel32.dll
I think therefore that you must have corrupted system DLLs, which is never a
good thing.

What operating system are you running on? It sounds like at some point
you've installed some dodgy software (no, not Freenet) and that has replaced
some or all of the system files with old or corrupted versions. If you're
using Windows 95, 98 or Windows NT, try running the following file to see if
it improves the situation.
(This is all one long URL so you might need to copy and paste it a line at a
time into your browser window to make up the whole link address)

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=http://download.microsoft.com
/download/vc60pro/Update/1/W9XNT4/EN-US/VC6RedistSetup_enu.exe

If you're running Windows ME, Windows 2000 or Windows XP, go to
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com
and reinstall the latest service pack for your operating system.. To do this
- If there is a link named "Product Updates" then click on this, and wait
until after it has said "Please wait while Microsoft works out what system
files you have" (your wording may differ) then tick "Show installed" and
redownload the latest service pack
- If that isn't there then look for a link on the page for Service Pack and
follow that.
- If that still isn't there, then go to
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000, click on the Downloads link on the far
left, select Service Packs.

I don't know any easy way to force XP or ME to redownload the latest service
pack, I'll let you know if I can find oone.

Let me know if the situation improves.

Dave

Subject: Re Crashing

I ran the sun java before running freenet and that worked ok , I then opened
Freenet and it froze after rebooting a few times I eventually got it to the
internet explorer page saying Freenet Gateway , as it loaded it crashed but
this time it left a error message , this is it , -- The MSVCRT , DLL file is
linked to missing export KERNAL32 DLL inializedCriticalSection . thats
all it said before I had to reboot again . Fred .
PS how do I reply to the posts in the support area , do I have to send an
email all the time or is there another way . Thanks .
