They can, if you don't use absolute paths and thus stay within Freenet. You can have image URLs point to other freesites, too. Just use the following format:
<img src="/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/sitename//image.png">
Other keytypes (CHK and KSK) can be used, too.

Not just image URLs, but any URLs pointing outside Freenet are changed to point to a warning page within fproxy.
