The first thing hackers would do if they managed to infiltrate the codebase would be to have all the nodes report back to them, and IRC is what they usually use. But the mere opinion of a NAT is a poor basis for supposing this might have happened. After all, Windows is always saying that part 386 of a download is a virtual device driver.
