I appreciate the prompt response!I have successfully installed freenet and I am
browsing, checking things out. However, this message appears at the top:Your
installed version of Java is vulnerable to a severe remote exploit (remote code
execution!). You must upgrade to at least Java 5 update 20 or Java 6 update 15
as soon as possible. Freenet has disabled any plugins handling XML for the time
being, but this includes searching and chat so you should upgrade ASAP! See
http://www.cert.fi/en/reports/2009/vulnerability2009085.html for details. Also,
please do not use Thaw or Freetalk. The UPnP plugin is enabled, it might
present a risk if you have bad guys on your LAN, but without it Freenet will
not be able to port forward and will have severe problems.Could not load
plugin! The plugin ThawIndexBrowser could not be loaded: unexpected error while
plugin loading freenet.pluginmanager.PluginNotFoundException: plugin cannot be
loaded because your JVM is dangerously old; plugin uses XML and your JVM has
remote code execution vulnerabilities in its XML parser
We are still trying to load the plugin over Freenet.
You can try again over Freenet, or you can fetch it over the web.
I'm having trouble upgrading my java as it does not appear in my system update
menu after I look for updates. The java website tells me I must update directly
from the Mac system.
Apple is always slow to update Java.  :(  It's a recurring theme.

The closest thing I can find for you is
http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/application_updates/javaformacosx105update5.html
but it looks like it requires OS X 10.5.8 ??

I don't have a Mac myself, but some folks on this mailing list do.
Perhaps one of them can offer additional help.
