Woah now - there's some new and very surprising information. I've never heard of such incredible slowness, and that problem is not due to the inability to connect to strangers. It isn't trying to load anything remote for these pages - this is something local to your machine. What machine are you trying to run this on? Does it have a reasonable amount of free RAM / CPU / storage? How big is your datastore?
