1. I'm unsuccessfully trying to link a Microsoft Access database to contact
information held in Ebase.

In this case, the Access database is being used for information related to
the operation of a conference. Much of the information is inappropriate
for Ebase, but we still need to manage contact information which is now
already entered in Ebase. I'd like to avoid actually exporting data from
Ebase into this second database, since my experience is that having
duplicate copies of data eventually but SURELY causes problems. (People
updating the wrong database, etc...)

I can get tests to work if I create my own brand new Filemaker V5 file with
some simple test data (both with and without passwords enabled in the
FileMaker test database). But when I try to create an Access link to Ebase
I get an error message which seems only partly displayed:

  "[FileMaker][ODBC Filemaker Pro driver]The owner 'names_' w(#0)"

Has anyone worked through the necessary steps to tell me what I'm missing?

2. An immediate follow-up question relates to how SQL can be used to send
pass-thru queries to Ebase via ODBC (I'll be sending from
MS-Access). Where can I find some information on doing this? (It would be
nice to extract only the subset of Ebase fields that I really need in the
satellite database in Access.)

Thanks much for the help.
