When you import a file using the ebase procedure, you get an
opportunity to de-dupe within the file you are importing, and between
the new file and existing records in ebase, before the new records
are moved into ebase. This procedure is more or less painful
depending on how many dupes you have. You are presented with a list
of dupes, with the duplicates next to each other, and you mark the
one you want to remove. If there are many, it is tedious, but it
makes sense to review them so you don't lose important info on one or
the other of the records.
