Yes it has been a while since I edited letters. I don't recall any
system or preference changes -- the system was apparently shut down once,
no one claims to know when, but the system did run an automatic recovery
(integrity check?) on starting up once a few months ago. The program
seems to be working fine in the overall, it's just in the layout mode on
any screen where clicking the button above the book produces nothing.
All other buttons that have popup or pulldown menus seem to work ok.
It's just that one -- and it's only in the layout mode that the button
goes "dead" -- it 'clicks' but produces no other result. In browse
mode, the button produces an abbreviated list of layouts, but I can't
seem to get the full submenu of layouts to display anywhere any more.
