Does FileMaker behave the same with other files as it does with ebase
files? If it does, the problem is not ebase, but a FileMaker or
system setting or problem. Are you using a Windows system? Note that
the pulldown you describe is a FileMaker function, which is different
from the layout features within a file. I have seen this submenu
behave in two different ways in Windows (a single long list of
layouts, and several columns) which makes me think there is a
preference setting in Windows or FileMaker somewhere.
