Hi Holly-
Now I understand. The problem with your non-DSL office hosting Ebase is
that you won't have a static IP at that address. Every time you dial-up to
the Internet, you'll get a different IP address (unless you can somehow
work it out otherwise), which means that the DSL office won't know what IP
address to type into FMPro in order to connect to the host. A static IP is
required for hosting Ebase via TCP/IP (as opposed to the Web, which I think
isn't possible with Ebase currently).
Better to have the office with DSL host Ebase, and have the four-person
office dial in. That means, however, that the 4-person office will have
very slow access to the database. You have to decide if everyone having a
real-time version is more important than the four people in the larger
office having fast access.
