>I was surprised to notice that the sending of a thank you letter does NOT >show up in the Contact History list. As I was considering making it so, I >was wondering if there was some good reason for not doing it.? WHY does >ebase not post thank you letters to the COntact HIstory? I think the reason is that the Thank you letter is the end of the transaction. 1. You solicit a contribution (or action) with a solicitation letter or email, which is recorded in the contacts record and assigned a source code. 2. The constituent responds with a check or action, which you record in payments or actions, with the appropriate source code so you can track the effectiveness of your solicitations. 3. You close with a Thank you. There is a Thank Date field in the payments file in which you can record the date of the thankyou letter. -- Dave Shaw Northwest Classics, Inc tel: 206-954-7526 fax: 206-625-1338 ------------------ Reminder to each recipient: To change your list account preferences, go to http://email.sparklist.com/scripts/lyris.pl?enter=support and enter the email address you used to subscribe to the ebase support list:: [email protected] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] --------------------------------------------------------------------- ebase - Relationship Management for Nonprofits, http://www.ebase.org ---------------------------------------------------------------------
