The record type is used by several scripts to determine whether to use the
Bus or Name as the first line. If you added new record types you need to
modify these scripts. In general making modifications anywhere are fraught
with danger unless you really understand the ramifications elsewhere.
The name line only appears when the record type is IND as you have
discovered. You need to change a several computations to change that
behavior and you may not like the results.
It would have been clearer if the the record type had only two values called
nameline and busline to highlight what it is really used for. If you expand
the list of record types you are probably trying to use that field for
something it was not designed for. You should make those distinctions in
some other field.
