On the data screen Contact Flags there is a field labelled Newsletter. We
mark that field for everyone that should receive a newsletter complementary
or paid. I am not completely happy with this solution since it relies on
accurate data entry to remember to check it. I would be happier with a
solution that computed it from other available information. I would also
like to set a time limit on some of our complementary newsletters so that
they automatically lapsed and were reevaluated. I think this can be done on
the payment screen by entering a payment of $0 dues and setting the expire
date explicitly. This is sort of what we did for life members who joined far
prior to eBase and we have no record of when they became life members or
what they paid. Perhaps this is best handled as a request for the next
version of eBase to do something more obvious.
