Carol,
I think that what you want to do is export from Excel
to a comma or tab delimited file format, and then import that into
ebase.
On my current version of Excel I can do this by doing a "Save As",
choosing CSV as the format (default is Excel document) and giving it
a name. My current Windows version gives it an extension of csv
automatically, but note that this is really a text file. I did
not get any blank lines when I did this. If you are still ending
up with lots of extra lines, then I recommend that you select all the
rows in Excel that you think should be empty and either explicitly
delete or clear them.
