Tom Childers included this message within his "Addtional Tables 3" 
message.  I think there are a couple of misunderstandings represented, and 
I wanted to offer a couple (hopefully clarifying) comments:

I think "layout" here doesn't really mean "layout" the way the term is used 
in FileMaker references, but means "field structure in a FileMaker 
file".  And I think "table" would be interpreted in "FileMaker" jargon as a 
"database file".  Well, at minimum, you CAN change layouts and add fields 
to Ebase database files such as the "CUSTOM" table...  So I think this last 
statement makes Ebase sound much more "locked up" than it actually is.  Of 
course, you can ONLY do these things if you're using Ebase with an 
installed version of FileMaker...
