The trick to get the first line as field names is to export to the
format Merge. This is a special case of comma-delimited, with the
first record containing field names. Clicking the export button for
labels or letter merges results in a dialog box in which you specify
the name and location of the file to be exported, and at the bottom
is a pop-up list of file formats. Choose Merge, and you'll get the
format you need.
