Well, here's installment 2 of my question:

Then I carefully fixed the file names from .102 to .103 and remove the
word "clone." As I opened my cloned/renamed files, I see the ebase splash
screen like usual, am asked for password for Names_.103. I entered
'master' and Names opens with a small box in the upper left asking me to
"Please enter the following information. Organization _________ and Reg
Number____________.

Unfortunately, it will not accept any cursor placement. Most of the menus
are greyed out, altho they still pull down. The whole file menu is greyed
out, so the only way to quit is to restart the system. (or crash it)

I went back to a recent backup and made clones again, got the same dialog
box with no cursor acceptance.

Any clues to how to create a cloned set to use in another organization,
using the ebase with "our" changes in it?

Thanks again for the help.
