Thanks for the feedback, I'm happy to elaborate on why I believe a bulletin
board is often more useful for support than a list-serv.
1. A bb has information available when you want it, reducing the emails in
your inbox. Most of the time the subjects are not related to the end users
interests.
2. A bb is organized by categories and easily navigated, reducing the need
to sift through emails for the info you need.
3. A bb post has a longer life than an email message, allowing visitors to
find postings relavant to their issue long after the initial thread was
created. Excellent for new users and new subscribers.
4. A good bb can email subscribers when a new topic of interest is posted,
again reducing unwanted email.
5. Many bb's allow for online chats with users available. The Utraboard bb
allows you to see who's accessible on the site at any given moment for
questions (you can also remain incognito).
6. Frequent visitors can quickly browse the most recent posts on a good
bb.
7. Visitors can see which subscribers are most active by viewing the total
posts next to users names.
8. Shy visitors can elect to keep their real name and email address
anonymous.
9. My favorite feature of a bb is that when several proposed solutions are
offered, the visitor can easily view them in a threaded discussion and not
switch between emails that may be out of order.
I hope this helps. This is merely a suggestion since the eBase support
lists seems to be growing rapdily and the questions are likely becoming
redundant. If anyone would like some examples, let me know. Unfortunately,
I just checked the ub2k.com site and they're having problems, oh well.

I don't remember a discussion like that in this forum. Maybe there
was some internal discussion before the listserve was set up.

Tompkins, I'd like to hear more about why a bb is much better for
this application than a listserve.
