Jane,
You should be able to simply replace all of your current ebase files
(twenty-some?) with their counterparts from your backup. It's important to
replace all the files and leave none unreplaced.
If you're keeping zipped (or 'stuffed' on the Mac) archives of your backups,
I'd go ahead and zip/stuff an archive of the corrupt version before throwing
the files away (not all files may be corrupt, and its conceivable that you
might find a need to recover some small bit of information from an
uncorrupted file; however, this would NOT be done with that file as part of
a total ebase system) -- you can always throw it away later if not needed,
but you can't get it back if it's gone. If not already zip- or
stuff-archiving, you might want to get a copy of WinZip or Stuffit and do
this first. Once that's done, you can delete the ebase files and replace
them with the ones from your most recent uncorrupted backup.
(If you need more information on backups, there was a great set of info on
the list in the last week or so on backup strategies)
Good luck!

Thanks for the warning. Now that I have to back up from a saved copy of
ebase and I'm really new to all of this, is there a step by step process
that anyone can give me about reinstalling ebase or shall I call my local
computer geek? Thanks again. Jane

DO NOT use the the recover command. You will need to restore ebase from a
previous back up, there is not other way to safely recover from this
situation. Good
luck.
