This line is different from the first line sent to the developers list.
We have a number of members that are householded because they play
significant roles that are independent so sometime we want to mail one or
the other without the partner's name appearing on the correspondence. In V1
there is a maintenance problem because you have to remember to change both
of the records if they move. This is easily handled in V2. However there is
other information that it is harder to fix up to be right by just doing it
to both records. One of them is listed as primary and things like dues
payments go to that one. We have family membership rates. But entering the
dues payment into the primary does not change things like the expire date or
member status on the secondary. These are only changed by adding a dues
payment for the secondary. Currently we tend to do a $0 dues payment but
this is not without problems as that is also what we use for complimentary
memberships and they need to be distinguished for some purposes.
What solutions have others used for similar problems?
